The watch reminds me of nothing so much as the great stage magicians of the 19th century and their elaborate illusions particularly Robert-Houdin's "The Marvellous Orange Tree" in which a spectator's handkerchief vanishes link into an egg then a lemon then an orange and then finally reappears inside an orange which grows on the branches of an orange tree before link the eyes of the audience. The handkerchief is link revealed by two mechanical butterflies.

But that's not all. The minute track is different even if link you don't notice at first glance. In the previous generation the link minute markers were printed on the flat external zone of the dial. With this 50th anniversary model they link now appear directly on the Tapisserie surface.

The RRCCII's case is another step forward for Akrivia and Rexhepi. I mean link who makes mass-produced 37mm link watches at this price point anymore Few brands to say the least and my hat is off to Seiko for the respect it's paying to the well-loved SNXS line.

I generally look at link high-end independent timepieces the way I look at hypercars or airplanes. I follow the new releases from MBampF Ferdinand Berthoud F.P. Journe and the link like and I appreciate them for advancing independent horology and keeping the savoir faire in link the craft but I don't aspire to own anything coming out of those workshops because I know the odds are too low and the price is too high.
