It just occurred to me that your site for Apple TV would be perfect as an Apple TV app. Have you ever considered this?

I am fairly certain it only works with the Duo. I have considered picking up a Duo for this game alone. It is the best shooter on iOS.

I am considering getting a new MFi controller, but I typically play games with bluetooth headphones for sound. Does anyone know how well the PXN Speedy or Nimbus work with bluetooth headphones connected?

I am debating between buying the Horipad Ultimate and the Nimbus. Since the Nimbus works with the Niko grip, I will probably pick that one up, but certainly please let us know if you find anything that works well with the Ultimate.
Edit: I just realized I should get the Nimbus. I have an Xbox One, so if the Nyko grip works with those controllers and the Nimbus, it's a double win!

I read both controllers works with 4.1 Bluetooth. My mid 2010 MacBook doesn't support it. Is it possible to make it work with the lightning wire?
I don't think there is any way to use a Lightning cable to use these controllers with your MacBook. You could look into getting a Bluetooth USB adapter with 4.1.

Cool! I'll have to give it a try when I get around to buying a USB C cable 😉

Has anyone tried setting this up yet? I'm curious how well it runs the different systems and if it's worth the time to sideload.

Here is the link Kevin posted about the Apple Pencil. I'd suggest reading it if you have any passing interest in this tool, as the writer's enthusiasm is palpable.
Now I want one. I enjoy writing some, but prefer longhand. Still would prefer the pencil with an iPad Air 3, though.
#25 Re: MFi Controllers » Moonlight, Steam & Nimbus? » Nov 21 3:22 PM
I totally agree they can make their games work without those two inputs. Both Call of Duty and Modern Combat make do just fine.
The real feature of these inputs, though, is that you don't have to take your thumbs off the analog sticks to use them, which can be very useful in FPS games.
I imagine Apple didn't want to include them because they couldn't be pressure sensitive. And since all the buttons are pressure sensitive, it shouldn't be too hard to find work arounds for the lack of two standard inputs.

I haven't had much of a chance to think about this, but using the forum account and local storage instead of cookies would be the way I'd go.

That would be irritating. From what I hear, Apple is always slow with their APIs for iTunes.
Glad to hear my favorite iOS site will be covering all things tvOS as well!

Good to know. Maybe I'll wait for an update our two.

Hi Kevin,
Are you going to keeping up the Apple TV section, much like the MFi Games section? I would like to know if you are working on a "New Games" section.
Thanks!

Will the Nimbus work well with steam through Moonlight? does it need to use the anolog click buttons to work correctly? I can't remember if steam games use the anolog click at all, I have been using my Xbox one controller with the PC and play mostly FPS games.
Most modern FPS games in Steam use the analog clicks. I would imagine Moonlight and Kino Console would both have workarounds for this shortcoming, but I haven't used either of them and cannot say for certain. I'm like you and mostly play FPS games where the analog clicks are often crucial to gameplay. Hopefully Moonlight and Kino Console have good options to remap these functions.

I haven't been complaining, I always thought clicky thumbsticks are confusing and Apple was good to get rid of them!
Tell a non-gamer to press "L3" or "R3", see what happens. They're unintuitive.
They are unintuitive in explaining them ('analog click' or 'L3 and R3'), but during gameplay I find them extremely intuitive and crucial for certain functions. Granted, FPS games get the most use out of these, and I play this genre the most. For other types of games, these buttons often aren't needed. They are, however, a standard element of console and PC gaming (if, like me, you use an Xbox controller), and I think Apple should have included them since they are standard. I know Apple likes to do their own thing, but don't they have gamers working for them that could have spoken up? Just seems strange.
