PXN Speedy Vs Nimbus SteelSeries (not equally responsive)

When i decided to finally buy an MFI controller, it boiled down to either the:

PXN Speedy Controller
https://afterpad.com/pxn-speedy-the-afterpad-review
or the
SteelSeries Nimbus Wireless Gaming Controller
https://afterpad.com/steelseries-nimbus … pad-review

Reviews praised the Speedy, and what made the selling point for me, was the included clip for my iPhone 6 plus. (and the fact that i found a store that sold it at a lower price than the Nimbus)
After reading quite a few reviews, these two controllers seemed to be somewhat equal.

After receiving the PXN speedy, I've used it quite a bit. I'm not 100% satisfied with the responsiveness in the controller, but i thought that the mobile gaming market still isn't "there" yet in terms of non-latency gaming and so on.
But today, i went into an Apple store and asked if i could test the Nimbus on my "gamecontrollertester"-app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/game-co … d859236726) there was a MAJOR difference. The sticks and the buttons were a lot more responsive than when i used the PXN Speedy in the same app. Modern Combat 5 also felt a lot better to play with the Nimbus.

So now, i'm going to try and sell the PXN and get a Nimbus and a Nyko Smart Clip instead.

Hey,

First off, welcome to the site, and thanks for providing your thoughts!

At the time the Speedy was released (and when I reviewed it), it was just as responsive as everything else - perhaps more responsive than the older SteelSeries controllers, actually.

Since then, Apple actually changed the MFi controller specifications. New controllers are allowed to use Bluetooth 4, instead of being stuck with Bluetooth 2. This means they're more responsive, more efficient, and have better battery life.

In my opinion, the Speedy is responsive enough for most players. But the Nimbus and Horipad Ultimate are definitely more responsive. If that's something you notice, definitely get one of the newer controllers.

Thanks for the welcome and answer.
That's quite interesting! I wasn't aware of that at all.
I'm somewhat picky when it comes to input latency, so I might be a bit demanding in that compartment.

If you're picky with latency, you should probably go for the Horipad Ultimate. It has slightly lower latency than the Nimbus, and some of the smallest dead zones I've ever seen on it's analog sticks. The Nimbus is also excellent, though. And both are far better than the Speedy (and all other older controllers!)
