Web design myths
It seems like a very interesting subject to discuss here, don’t you think? Why do UX myths persist even with so much data? Which myths do you personally consider to be the most interesting or the most outrageous?
Ego and inertia. You don’t have to trust me, but there’s a very serious blog post about common ux myths https://clay.global/blog/ux-guide/ux-myths that shows how ‘best practices’ become dogma. Example: Carousels. Studies show they’re ignored, yet clients demand them. I A/B tested one—90% of users saw only the first slide. Now I push static hero sections. Data > tradition. That’s the only way to improve, yes.
