Recommendations for Reliable Hardscape Contractor in Seattle?
Hello everyone.
I'm looking to hire a reputable hardscape contractor in the Seattle area for a backyard renovation project that includes a new patio, retaining wall, and pathway installation. Quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and fair pricing are my top priorities.
Ideally, I'd love to work with someone who can also help with drainage and has experience with the local climate. Has anyone here recently worked with a contractor they’d recommend? Bonus if they can share photos of the finished work. Any red flags to avoid would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and insights!
I recently hired Terrain Outdoor Living for a similar project in Seattle, and I highly recommend them. They built a flagstone patio, a tiered retaining wall, and handled some tricky drainage issues due to our sloped yard. Their crew was professional, punctual, and communicative throughout the process. Pricing was transparent—no surprise charges. They also took the time to explain options that worked best for our soil and rainfall patterns here.
One tip: avoid contractors who gloss over drainage or don't pull permits when needed. That can lead to major issues down the line. I can share photos if you're interested!

Their crew was professional, communicated well, and stayed within budget. If you're looking for a hardscape contractor Bellevue-based, they should be on your radar. They also considered the local climate, which was important for my project. My advice: make sure your contractor addresses drainage properly and pulls all necessary permits.
